ABOUT US

Over 30 years ago, the Bardzik’s began Tarnow in Chicopee on property their ancestors had farmed since 1892. John Bardzik had just completed his PhD from the Plant and Soil Science Department at UMass, Amherst and was excited to take his knowledge out of the lab and back to the garden.  In 1983, Tarnow established a second location in Enfield, CT and now our two stores provide convenient access to communities up and down the Pioneer Valley.  We really are two stores in one.  Our nursery provides the area’s premiere selection of quality shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals and roses.  For more than 20 years, we have also offered the highest quality casual furniture, with over 70 sets on display and available throughout the year.
